Printing in color is profitably increasing

According in the latest report from IDC (International Data Corporation) one of the premier global providers of market intelligence, dated Oct 2011, document entitled Hardcopy Device Usage - Color Usage Trends. An increase in demand for color printing service makes printing or imaging business boost their profit, mostly in the United States.

The study was based on the conducted survey of 1,480 end-users in the U.S. which performed by the IDC's Hardcopy Device Usage research practice. It covers the behavior of every end-user around scanning, faxing, copying and printing. It also examines the applications behind increased in color print volume, they also consider the correlations to company size, departments, industry verticals, brand, and device type. They also discovered that in weekly print volumes 47% are now contains color on page.

Stated by CRN channelweb.co.uk. Jonathan Bees a Research Director for Hardcopy Device Usage at IDC, said:

"These findings bode well for a print industry that has had difficulty generating profits and is always looking for new revenue opportunities."

"This is generating increased profits for print vendors."

The report also declared that most companies who is trying to cut their costs on copying, faxing and printing used more color prints than the average and more than companies that does not trying to decreased such costs.

They also found out that color usage is related with size of the work-group. The bigger the work-group who share the device, the more color is used. The leading department who had the overall color use is the marketing department.
